This week the Happy Thursday Ride is a Bikini Ride/Pool Party!

For our 3rd Thursday of the month we will be touring the CBD/FQ and ending with a POOL PARTY!!! Our starting spot is on the back porch of Manning's Restaurant (http://goo.gl/maps/TpLAr) - if you are running late be sure to call your food order in ahead of time! Also be sure to ask for the specials, as riders get 1/2 price appetizers and 2 for 1 drinks! After hanging out and grubbing down, we will head out at 7:45 to bring some Happy Thursday cheer to the CBD/FQ!

This ride will be ending at Indulge Island Grill around 10PM with a Happy Thursday Pool Party!! Pool access will cost $5 (normally $10), but it's worth it! Also, there are plenty of spaces to lounge and party if you don't want to hit the pool or hottub. They will also be opening the back gate for everyone, so you can bring our bike right in and not worry about locking up!

So bring out your swimwear, don your bikinis, and beat the heat with a cool dip in the pool at the end of the night! And don't forget to bring a towel!

REMINDER: Our goal is always to create a safe environment for all riders. We cannot control, nor do we desire to control, every rider' behavior. Every rider is individually responsible for taking care of themselves and for the safe operation of their bicycles. Every person that joins the ride is accepting the risks which are inherent in riding a bicycle with a large group of other people riding bicycles. Please be courteous to other each other as well as other traffic on the roadways, be safe and always be sure to leave no trace!

Please share this event and invite others to join! The more the merrier, and the best way to get more people out is by word of mouth!

This week's theme is: 60's/70's/80's Bands

This week's theme is a great way to rock out your Village People outfits, your teased-up 80's hair band wig, or even your KISS outfits! Seriously, there's too many possibilities to list and ANYTHING goes, so rock it out hard! (side note: themes are always optional but they are fun!)

We will be meeting up at Banks St Bar (4401 Banks, http://goo.gl/maps/ECxg5) at 7:00PM for some Lazaro's Pizza and drinks, then rolling out at around 7:45. There may even be a suprise bike lane in store!

Get to the start spot early if you want to make sure to get food, and don't forget that the Crescent City Pie and Sausage Company is across the street, and they take call-in orders (as does Lazaro's) if you think you might be cutting it close.

This ride will be a bit longer distance, but we will keep it at a comfortable pace, so don't worry! The end time has been adjusted to 10:30PM for this bonus ride to adjust for the additional distance and to keep the time frame realistic. And if you plan on driving in, we will be ending near the start spot. For anyone that is late or want to join mid-ride, we will post a ride tracker here and on our Twitter (@NolaSocialRide). This Week's Theme is "Show Your Pride!"

NOLA Social Ride has been around since the fall of 2010 when a handful of people met on the Blue Bridge on Bayou St John near Cabrini high school; some ideas were discussed, a plan for the future was hatched and the rest is history.

Now come and show your pride this week by sporting a NSR tshirt, wearing some festive colors, don a pelican, or tattoo Happy Thursday on your forehead. It doesn't matter how you show your PRIDE...just come out and show it!

We are meeting at Finn McCool's Irish Pub (3701 Banks St, http://goo.gl/maps/ALXKH) at 7PM to eat, drink, and hang. There is ample bike parking and wonderful outdoor seating, plus the food is great from Boo Koo BBQ! (Menu - http://finnmccools.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Boo_Koo_BBQ_menu-page-0011.jpg)

Beat that drum, blow that horn, or shake that cymbal because this weeks theme is "Make Some Noise" French Quarter Fest was a blast and Jazz fest is right around the corner, and we wanted to keep the music going so lets bring some tunes to the Westbank!

We all know music and rhythm is something that is learned around the country but here in New Orleans you're born with it, it runs in our blood, it is part of our soul, it brings you home when your away, it sends chills down your spine, it can bring tears to your eyes and it is all around us.

We will be meeting up at the front of the Audubon Aquarium (next to Canal Street Ferry landing) & then taking the next ferry after 7:30pm. Don't be late!  If you miss the ferry you'll have to catch the next one 30 minutes later.

Are you wondering where is the Audubon Aquarium? Well, this will help you out...Bike Directions Link: http://g.co/maps/e2z75.

It's a Seuss-Cycle Ride,
Come Show That Side!

Find us at Mannings and you will see,
it has food, drinks and a place to pee.
At 7:30 we will hit the road and pedal,
with funk, ska and maybe some metal.
We will ride where ever we decide to go,
even with a few drinks in tow.
Happiness cheers for all will be spread,
from you, me and the cat on my head!
I am not crazy and you all will tell,
even though nothing will come from the sound of my bell.
At times we will stop for a rest break,
which gives us a chance for a photo to take.
But as the night fades and ride's end nears,
don't be sad, it will all happen again my dears.

April is National Poetry month! So a "Dr. Seuss" ride is in order. Come dressed as your favorite children's character. Dr. Seuss and Shell Silverstein are known for their iconic children's poetry, lets show them some NOLA love as we ride around the CBD/ French Quarter in costume.

Remember to mention that you are with the Social Ride at Manning's and get 2-for-1 drinks and half price appetizers!

Don't forget, if you want to tell your friends about the ride, send them to any of the links below! We post a ride tracker to our FB group and Twitter on most rides, so bookmark them in case you get lost or need to catch up!

Everyone rides at their own risk! If it is your first ride, or if you haven't read it before, check out our Tips for New Happy Thursday Riders here:http://goo.gl/NGuCx
