Once again, Tuesday Nights are bicycle nights for City Park’s light display. This is a ticketed event, $7.99 including fee per person, and advance purchase is required. Bike nights usually sell out, so buy your tickets early. If you wait until you can see the weather forecast, it may be too late.
What to expect: Use the driveway north of the building to get to the rear beer garden. We’ll gather in the beer garden starting around 6, and the ride itself will roll at 7 pm. For the first half of the ride, we’ll bike over to the park and then roll slowly through the 2.25 mile light display. We’ll pause just to regroup near the end, then ride back to Deutches Haus. We’ll take our break there, and for those who wish to ride more, the second half of the ride will be a traditional NOLA Social Ride, starting 8-ish and returning to Deutches Haus around 9 pm.
Deutches Haus is open to the public (all ages welcome) and has a full bar. Cards only, no cash.
You’re welcome to ride just the first part (ticket required), or just the second part (free), or the whole thing.
More info and ticket purchase.
Tickets are time-specific, but they aren’t strict on that for bike nights. Just buy whatever time is available closest to 7 – 7:30
for Tuesday Dec 3.
Note the early start times: Meet at 6, actual ride starts at 7.
Start, break, and end point: Deutches Haus. Meet in the beer garden area behind the building. Use the driveway north of the building to ride to the back.
***Rules of the Ride***
* The leader remains in front of the ride at all times.
* Give yourself enough space from the rider in front of you to not run into a rear wheel in the event of an abrupt stop.
* Slower riders stay to the front of the ride to set the pace.
* Try to fill in gaps and keep the ride together.
* No littering
* If you imbibe, do so responsibly.
FOR NEWBIES
This actual ride leaves at 7, an hour earlier than our usual Thursday time! We will explore different areas of town every week, so if you miss us one week, you can always catch us the following week. Bring your speakers, lights, and smiles, and be ready to ride! Costumes are always fun!
We are always open to ideas, so feel free to message us! We do our best to post our ride info every Sunday before a ride. We are always looking for more ride leaders!
